More's Utopia and Utopian Literature (Cliffs Notes)
Published in Paperback by Cliffs Notes (August, 1976)
Author: Harold M. Priest
Average review score:

Wow! Who would have thought!
I wrote my senior thesis on Utopia and The Republic, illustrating the common theme of what makes a Utopian culture. Believe it or not, the Cliffs Notes had the most original and best thought out analysis that I read, AND BELIEVE ME I read a lot on Utopian Literature. If you are reading Utopia, I suggest the Cliffs Notes.

Multimedia Projects in Education : Designing, Producing, and Assessing
Published in Paperback by Libraries Unlimited (December, 1997)
Authors: Karen S. Ivers and Ann E. Barron
Average review score:

Finally a book with immediate classroom application.
Students in my Multimedia Design course really appreciate the author's inclusion of materials they can adapt to their classrooms now. Too many times I, myself, have bought books weighted in theory and short on practical applications. Not so this time. Kudos to you for providing straight-forward information and specific examples. One suggestion, though, is an update soon. Some of the material has become dated and students will soon lose interest if instructors must constantly explain how what was said in the book is no longer true.

This is a very touching book, that takes you through the life of an unusual woman, from England to the United States. The women in her family are very connected, and this book makes you feel like you're living their lives. Nanny's recipes are wonderful, as are the ones of the extended family. This book is a wonderful tribute, and well worth reading!

Number Rhymes (Little Barron's Toddler Books)
Published in Paperback by Barrons Juveniles (February, 1999)
Author: Carol Thompson
Average review score:

One-Two Read!
My 10 month old son loves this book! It has bright pictures that capture his attention and action rhymes he tries to imitate. Preschoolers also really seem to like this book. My son's older cousins and the preschool class I teach ask me to read it over and over. My preschoolers can say the rhymes and do the actions without the book now, but they still like to look at the pictures! The other Little Barron's books are really cute too!

Old Macdonald Had a Farm/Pop-Up (Barron's Pop-Up Song Book)
Published in Hardcover by Barrons Juveniles (November, 1989)
Authors: Dick Dudley and Pat Paris
Average review score:

"With an oink, oink here..." hey, where's the next flap?
This is a great book. The illustrations are funny and colorful. Old MacDonald looks cute enough to hug! It takes some practice, though, to find and open the correct flaps and keep the song going at the same time! But if it takes a little longer to get it right, it's just that much more time my daughter and I get to enjoy it.

Author: Bruce A. Barron
Average review score:

Ever been screwed by your insurace company. Fight back!
This book is written sot that it is easily understood and explains many things that the insurnace company will never tell you. This book is designed as a tool to get what you deserve from your insurance company. There are many things that are not written in company policys that the insurance company does not want you to know. This book assists you in finding out what this information is and how it affects you. I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever been denied payment from or have ever been screwed by your insurance company. (Which is probably everyone in the nation.)

Painless Math Word Problems (Barron's Painless Series)
Published in Paperback by Barrons Educational Series (September, 2001)
Authors: Marcie F. Abramson, Rika Spungin, and Laurie Hamilton
Average review score:

The greatest math book
This is a really fun book to read. The peoples names are really funny and it is very challenging to do the word problems. I am having so much fun giving the problems to my friends and family to see if they can do them. I know that I will do so much better in school because I have been practicing my word problems. I would suggest that this book should be used in school too.

Painless Science Projects (Barron's Painless Series)
Published in Paperback by Barrons Educational Series (November, 1998)
Authors: Faith Hickman Brynie, Hank Morehouse, and Faith Hickman Brynie
Average review score:

A first resource
This is the science project book we wish we had found first. It is not a list of project ideas, like other books. Instead, it is a very practical guide to doing a science project. How to break a big idea down into a managable project. How the parents can be sure to let the student do the work and benefit from the experience. Full of good tips, warnings of impending mistakes, and a very good reference on what a science project is all about. I'm also sure that science teachers would be impressed with its informative and guiding style and could easily make use of the book as a student reference for any project.
